The short version.
We use three first-party cookies, all needed for SenteMe to work or to remember a basic preference, plus a third-party product-analytics provider that sets two cookies to measure how the product is used. We do NOT use advertising trackers or social-media pixels, and nothing follows you off SenteMe onto Google or Meta. The analytics provider masks the text you type and never sees your mobile-money number; if you would rather not be measured at all, you can block its two cookies as described below and the rest of SenteMe keeps working.
What a cookie is, in one sentence.
A cookie is a small string of text that a website stores in your browser so it can recognise you on your next request. Cookies on their own do not do anything, what matters is what data is in them and what is done with that data. The table below lists every cookie SenteMe sets, what is in it, and how long it lives.
How to refuse or delete cookies.
Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies, either for a specific site or in general, usually in Settings → Privacy or Settings → Cookies. If you block the two Supabase cookies above, you can still browse public campaigns, but you will not be able to stay signed in, create a campaign, or contribute to one. If you block the theme cookie, your light/dark choice will simply not persist. The two analytics cookies are the only non-essential ones we set; blocking them (or using your browser's "do not track" setting, which our analytics provider honours) stops the measurement and changes nothing else about how SenteMe works. The Supabase cookies are strictly necessary and the theme cookie is functional, so neither needs consent; the analytics cookies are kept deliberately lightweight and privacy-masked.
Third-party services that may set their own cookies.
Our product-analytics provider is the one third party that sets cookies in your browser on SenteMe (the two analytics cookies in the table above). It is loaded site-wide to measure how the product is used; it masks the text you type and never receives your mobile-money number. When you pay by mobile money, you do not leave senteme.com, the contribution is initiated server-to-server through our licensed payment partner's API and confirmed by webhook, so no payment-partner cookies are set on your browser during the payment flow. The transactional emails we send (contribution confirmation, withdrawal notifications, password resets) do not contain tracking pixels by default. If you click a link in one of those emails, your normal browser cookies apply on the SenteMe page you land on; we do not append tracking parameters that share your identity with advertisers. The specific analytics, transactional-email, and payments vendors we use are listed in our Privacy Notice as required by data-protection law.
When this page changes.
If we add, remove, or substantially change the purpose of any cookie, the table above is the first place we update, followed by an email to coordinators if the change affects how you use the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page changes whenever the table or any section is edited.
