Corporate
Operated by Mea Global Inc.
SenteMe is a product of Mea Global Inc, a Delaware-registered corporation. Mea Global Inc operates under the standard Delaware corporate structure used by US-incorporated fintech and payments platforms: a US legal entity that holds the underlying relationships, sanctions-screening obligations, and accountability for fund flow. Mobile-money contributions are processed by licensed payment partners that are themselves licensed institutions in each operating market. The specific partners we are working with today are disclosed in our Privacy Notice as required for transparency.
Money
How your money is protected.
SenteMe does not hold any of the money raised on the platform. Every contribution lands in a wallet held by our licensed payment partner and stays in that partner’s custody until the coordinator initiates a disbursement from the dashboard. The dashboard shows available balance live so over-disbursement is not possible. Multi-step disbursement is a first-class workflow: for a funeral campaign you will typically send three or four partial sums during the week. Each disbursement is logged on the public event page so the group can see it landed.
Transparency
Surplus pivots are logged in public.
When a campaign over-raises (a UGX 5,000,000 wedding that collects UGX 5,900,000), the coordinator can re-purpose the surplus, typically to the beneficiary, rolled into a follow-on need, or refunded to contributors. Every pivot is logged in a public Updates tab with the original purpose, the new purpose, the amount affected, and a coordinator note. Trust is built by visibility, not by promises.
Coming in Phase 3
Verified Beneficiary.
We will roll out a manual review for new coordinators that checks ID, payment reference, and a live photo or short video. Verified events get a badge on the public page and the share-card. This addresses the "I do not know if this coordinator is legitimate" problem that breaks trust at scale on WhatsApp lists.
Compliance
Licensed rails carry the regulatory weight.
Every payment that moves through SenteMe is processed by a licensed third-party payment partner that holds the local money-services licences in each country we operate in (issued by Bank of Uganda, Central Bank of Kenya, BNR for Rwanda, and the equivalent regulators elsewhere). SenteMe itself is a platform that sits on top of those licences, not a parallel licensee. This is the same structure that peer-to-peer fundraising and creator-payments platforms generally use to operate across many countries without holding a money-transmitter licence in each one. On top of the partner’s regulated controls, SenteMe runs its own platform-level checks: AML / CFT monitoring, enhanced KYC for high-value campaigns, prohibited-category enforcement, sanctions screening. The full policy is at /aml-cft.
Privacy
Your group sees what your group needs to see.
A campaign starts as a draft visible only to the coordinator. When you publish, the running list and disbursements become public to anyone with the link, that is the point. Contributors can mark themselves anonymous; in-kind items show a label without an account link. We do not sell contributor lists or send marketing email. We use a privacy-masked third-party analytics provider to see how the product is used, and run no advertising trackers anywhere. Full privacy policy lives at /privacy.
