Help Ian Get His Life-Saving Heart Surgery Ian Byukusenge is just 1 year and 5 months old and has a congenital heart condition that requires open-heart surgery. He has an opportunity to receive fully funded surgery in India, but before he can travel, he needs a diagnostic cardiac catheterization to assess his condition. The procedure costs UGX 3.5 million. Thanks to the Government of Uganda and generous sponsors, UGX 2.75 million has already been raised towards the procedure. We now need your help to bridge the remaining gaps and prepare Ian and his mother for their journey to India. Our fundraising target is UGX 1.75 million, to cover: UGX 750,000 – Balance for Ian’s medical investigations. UGX 500,000 – Passports for Ian and his mother. UGX 500,000 – Transport to and from Kisoro, and medication costs. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings Ian closer to receiving the care he needs. You can help give him a chance at a healthier future. I am Dr Patricia Turimumahoro, a family physician and patient advocate, and I am in the early stages of establishing the Arame Foundation.     Good morning, On behalf of Ian and his parents, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude for your generosity. The team at Uganda Heart Institute agreed to allow us to pay for Ian’s investigations in instalments over two months, which enabled us to proceed with the first critical test as we continue to raise the remaining funds. On Tuesday, Ian underwent a special test called a diagnostic catheterization. This test helps doctors determine whether his heart condition has caused permanent damage to the blood vessels in his lungs and whether he can safely undergo open-heart surgery. Thanks be to God, the results showed that the damage to his lungs is still reversible and that he is fit for surgery. Time is of the essence for Ian, and your contributions have come at a very critical time. We are truly grateful for your kindness and support in giving Ian this opportunity.
