CHARITABLE CAUSE FIGHTING FOR WOMEN'S HEALTH

Ayda hospital, a private not for profit hospital located in Ntinda. I hereby write to seek your help in treating some disadvantaged women in Uganda. We hope to use Ayda hospital to operate more than fifty women who suffer from debilitating diseases of the reproductive system. Since July, we have been running a medical camp. In the camp, we checked women for infections, abdominal swellings, and anemia. Those that could be cured with medication/drugs have been treated. We have treated two hundred patients so far. There are also patients who have heavy bleeding, severe anemia, incurable abnormal discharge, severe abdominal pain, cramps, and infertility. These problems have led to loss of jobs/work, poverty, and marriage breakdowns that led to further loss of financial support to the women. These patients need operation to remove the disease causing their suffering. The medical camp was announced on radio, informing people as far away as Kamuli, Masindi, Mpigi, Hoima, Kiboga, Luwero,Busunju and others. We also got women from the slums of Kampala, Mukono and wakiso. Each surgery we intend to do can cost between five and seven million shillings in most hospitals. We are able to use only two million shillings to operate each woman. This fee will cover all hospital costs and the treatment given after discharge.
